The first time I started to show interest in RC cars was in the early 80's whilst walking through a department store. I had owned a few but they were just toys. That same year I received a Tamiya Grasshopper and a Sanwa radio for Christmas and that's where it all began, that was in 1983.
I started off running 2WD Stock Electric Off-road at the Templestow club in Victoria Australia and later moved on to various clubs as Kielor Electric Off Road Car Club (K.E.O.R.C.C.), Altona Meadows Electric Off Road Racers (A.M.E.O.R.R.) running in the 4WD Modified class with a Kyosho Optima Mid. During this period my racing also extended to running events organised by Bayside Electric Indoor Racers (B.E.I.R.), Joint Electric Off-road Racing Clubs (J.E.O.R.C.) and I also took part in the Victorian State Championships 4 times.
After a break from the hobby I was running in the 1/8th Truggy class with a GS Racing XUT Pro Team kit with which I managed to win the G.M.C.A. Truggy Regional championship as well as placing top 5 (4th, 3rd, 2nd and 4th) in the G.M.C.A. Invitational events held on a national level. For the next season I will be taking part in the 1/8th Buggy class running a GS Racing CL-1 Advanced in the G.M.C.A Buggy Regional Championships as well as any other
Invitational events and races organised by other clubs. At this point I would like to thank DHIracing for all their support and GS Racing for their great products that in my opinion are second to none in reliability, very easy to work on and provide the performance needed to win races, in a full season of racing the GS Racing XUT I had no mechanical failures and that is saying something when you consider the beating that 1/8th Truggy's take.
