GMCA (MALTA) Round 1 Buggy Pro Class 2008-2009
A great start for GS Racing in the Gozo Regional Series (Malta) which commenced on Sunday 9th November 2008. GS Racing CL-1 AD+ buggies were out in force where they managed 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th positions in a very exciting race.
DHI Racing (Malta) team driver Carmelo Portelli drove away from the field from the start with his NOSRAM Powered GS Racing CL-1 AD+ buggy managing to lap the field for the overall win, no mistakes, no need for marshalling and a car that appeared to be running on rails despite the loose conditions made his victory look effortless.
The highlight of the day was the nip and tuck battle for second place where with less than 1/4 of the closing lap remaining a small mistake put Mario Grech and his CL-1 AD+ into 3rd place a few meters from the finish line. Good drives were also put in by the young Christian Azzopardi driving his CL-1 Pro RTR and Marlon Le Prevost driving a CL-1 Pro Team Kit who managed to take 4th and 5th positions respectively.
Well done to all the aforementioned drivers and we look forward to more competitive racing as the season progresses.
