GS Racing Cashes in at the Silver State

New year, new car, new team and great results. Borja Hernandez, racing his new Storm CLX for the very first time, qualified directly for the highly competitive Invite class at the 2009 Silver State Nitro Challenge. With the help of his mechanic Fernando and GS-USA Team Driver Greg Waller, Borja got faster with each qualifying heat, culminating with a win in round 3. The Invite class used a unique format with the top 3 drivers in each heat automatically qualifying for the A final, using qual points taken from each of the 3 rounds. The track conditions worsened as the weekend progressed and in the third and longest (15 minutes) of the qualifying heats, Borja pulled away from the field to take the win and ensure his spot in the final. This weekend’s results confirm the potential and performance of the CLX, and we look forward to improving on our setups and future results.
